MentorsGate - Academic Advisory & Mentorship Platform

1. Introduction
These Terms of Engagement ("Terms") govern the use of services provided through MentorsGate ("Platform"), including mentor-mentee engagements, moderated services, institutional collaborations, and associated academic advisory activities.
By registering, accessing, or engaging with the Platform, users agree to comply with these Terms.
MentorsGate reserves the right to update these Terms at its discretion. Continued use constitutes acceptance of revised terms.
2. Definitions
For the purposes of these Terms:
- Platform refers to MentorsGate and its associated services.
- Mentee refers to any individual or institution seeking academic advisory services.
- Mentor refers to an approved expert providing advisory guidance.
- MG Moderator refers to MentorsGate's structured facilitation and oversight mechanism.
- Engagement refers to any advisory or mentorship arrangement facilitated through the Platform.
- Institution refers to universities, colleges, research bodies, or authorized entities engaging services.
3. Nature of Services
MentorsGate provides structured academic advisory and mentorship services. Services may include:
- Research proposal advisory
- Methodology guidance
- Manuscript structuring support
- Academic writing advisory
- Publication guidance
- Institutional research consultation
MentorsGate does not:
- Guarantee publication acceptance
- Influence editorial decisions
- Provide accreditation approval
- Offer unethical or misconduct-based services
All services are advisory in nature.
4. Eligibility & Registration
Users must:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Possess legal capacity to enter agreements
- Comply with academic and institutional policies
Mentors must undergo verification and approval prior to assignment.
MentorsGate reserves the right to reject or suspend applications.
5. Scope of Engagement
Each engagement must clearly define:
- Scope of services
- Deliverables
- Timelines
- Compensation structure
- Milestones (if applicable)
Any modification to scope must be documented and mutually agreed upon.
6. Fees & Payment Terms
Payment terms shall be communicated prior to engagement confirmation.
Payments may be:
- Fixed-fee
- Milestone-based
- Session-based
- Institutional contract-based
MentorsGate may retain administrative or coordination fees where applicable.
All financial transactions must comply with applicable laws and documentation requirements.
7. Intellectual Property (IP)
Unless otherwise specified in writing:
- Intellectual Property remains with the mentee or commissioning institution.
- MentorsGate and mentors do not claim ownership of research outputs.
- Authorship must comply with journal and institutional guidelines.
MentorsGate assumes no liability for third-party copyright disputes.
8. Confidentiality
All parties agree to maintain confidentiality regarding:
- Research ideas
- Institutional documents
- Manuscripts and drafts
- Strategic academic discussions
Disclosure without authorization is prohibited.
Formal NDAs may be executed upon request.
9. Academic Integrity & Ethical Compliance
All parties agree to adhere to:
- Academic integrity standards
- Research ethics norms
- Institutional governance policies
- Publication ethics guidelines
MentorsGate strictly prohibits:
- Plagiarism
- Data fabrication or falsification
- Ghostwriting violating institutional norms
- Peer-review manipulation
- Misrepresentation of credentials
MentorsGate may decline or terminate engagements that violate ethical standards.
10. Mentor Responsibilities
Mentors shall:
- Provide advisory services within their expertise
- Maintain professional conduct
- Disclose conflicts of interest
- Deliver within agreed timelines
Mentors are independent professionals and are not employees of MentorsGate.
11. Mentee Responsibilities
Mentees shall:
- Provide accurate project details
- Respect agreed scope and timelines
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies
- Avoid requests that violate academic ethics
Mentees are solely responsible for final research submissions.
12. MG Moderator Role
MG Moderator provides:
- Mentor matching assistance
- Milestone documentation
- Scope monitoring
- Dispute facilitation
MG Moderator does not influence academic conclusions or publication decisions.
13. Dispute Resolution
In case of disputes:
- Parties shall attempt informal resolution.
- Scope documentation will be reviewed.
- Mediation may be facilitated by MG Moderator.
MentorsGate reserves the right to make administrative determinations in accordance with documented agreements.
14. Limitation of Liability
MentorsGate shall not be liable for:
- Journal rejection decisions
- Publication delays
- Institutional policy conflicts
- Regulatory non-compliance by users
- Indirect or consequential damages
Liability, where applicable, shall not exceed fees paid for the specific engagement.
15. Suspension & Termination
MentorsGate may suspend or terminate accounts for:
- Ethical violations
- Misrepresentation
- Breach of confidentiality
- Repeated non-compliance
- Misconduct
Termination does not absolve outstanding financial obligations.
16. Force Majeure
MentorsGate shall not be liable for delays or non-performance caused by events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, regulatory actions, or technical disruptions.
17. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by applicable laws of the jurisdiction in which MentorsGate operates.
Disputes shall be subject to appropriate legal forums under applicable law.
18. Alignment with IMPARC & IMT
Where engagements involve:
- IMPARC (Ignited Minds Professional & Academic Research Consortium)
- IMT (Ignited Minds Today Magazine)
additional governance protocols and editorial policies may apply.
Editorial acceptance remains independent and subject to defined review processes.
19. Amendments
MentorsGate reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Updated versions will be published through official channels.
Acceptance
By registering or engaging with MentorsGate services, users acknowledge that they:
- Have read and understood these Terms
- Agree to comply with all provisions
- Accept academic and ethical responsibilities
