Prof MASofique has been serving in the University of Burdwan since last 25 years.
He did his doctoral work in Management.Before Joining in University of Burdwan he worked in a college of Calcutta university and also served in Government College .
Prof Sofique’s Teaching and research interest include areas like service Management,Principles and practice of Management,Tourism impact studies,tour package operations. He has guided eight scholars including one Foreign scholars sponsored by Indian council of Cultural Relations, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.
He has published numbers of research article in Indian and foreign journals.
He has published a book on , “No Frill Airlines & Tourism Development:Eastern India perspective “.
He has also written two books for NSOU,Kolkata.
Prof Sofique has received Best Paper award from Central university of Karnataka,Gulbarga.
He delivered invited lecture in Kazan Federal University, Russia,LaTrobe University,Melbourne,Australia,Bursa University,Turkey,Rajshahi and University of Dhaka.
He has chaired the Department of Tourism Management thrice.He is a Reviewer in Srilanka Journal of Advanced Research in Humanities and Social Science Research,Colombo,Srilanka
